Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about file formats, printing, skill levels, and purchasing.

What format are the plans?+

All plans are delivered as PDF files. They open on any device — phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop — with any standard PDF reader. No special software required.

How do I receive my plan after purchase?+

Etsy delivers the download link immediately after payment. You'll also receive a confirmation email from Etsy with a link to download your files. Downloads are available for 30 days and can be re-downloaded if needed.

Can I print the plans?+

Yes. Plans are formatted for standard A4 and US Letter paper. Detail drawings that are originally at 1:1 scale are marked so you know which pages to print at 100% — don't use 'fit to page' for those sheets.

What skill level do I need?+

Each plan is clearly marked as Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. Beginner plans require only basic hand tools and no prior joinery experience. Advanced plans assume you can cut mortise-and-tenon or dovetail joints, but include close-up reference drawings for every joint.

What tools do I need?+

The required tool list is on the first page of every plan. Most beginner plans need only a saw, chisel, mallet, and marking gauge. More complex plans may call for a router or table saw — this is always stated upfront.

Can I use the plans commercially — to build furniture for sale?+

Yes, with one restriction: you may build and sell physical furniture from our plans, but you may not resell, share, or redistribute the PDF files themselves.

The dimensions don't match my lumber. What should I do?+

Plans are drawn to finished (after planing and milling) dimensions. If your lumber yard supplies rough stock, account for the thickness you'll lose in surfacing — typically 3–5mm per face. The cut list notes this for each plan.

Do you offer refunds?+

Because plans are digital downloads, we follow Etsy's digital goods policy. If a file is corrupted or the wrong item was sent, contact us through Etsy and we'll resolve it immediately.

Do you take requests for custom plans?+

Not currently. We focus on building a deep library of verified, tested plans rather than one-off commissions. If there's a furniture type you'd like to see, send us a message via the Contact page — popular requests do influence what we work on next.
